Dutch, your resident "beach bum" and back in action. We will be staying at the rustic and famous Phillips Hotel, on the boardwalk at 13th Street. At Phillips, you take the elevator to dinner, or for breakfast, downstairs and next door to the Commander Cafe for a buffet breakfast. Great thing about this location, managed by the beach bum's daughter, is that we have whatever we want just steps away.
There is a wide range of dinners in the $20 or so range; although, the beach bum likes the Phillips By-the-Sea Twilight menu. Crab Cake Platter or Fried Shrimp or Fried Tender Baby Clam Strips or Fried Fillet of Fish... all for just $9.99 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. Also Trout Almandine or Grilled 12 oz. Pork Chop for $10.99 or Grilled Filet Mignon for $14.99. Includes all the normal sides.
Dutch's daughter, Cheri, says that we receive one free parking spot for each rented bed, as long as all are registered guests.
So how much? You can just come for the day, come just for dinner, or stay in the hotel. You have a choice of either a king, a queen or t2o single beds. Based on tw0 to a room, price runs, for the entire weekend, including all tax and gratuities, $218 to $187. Also, includes a Sunday Wine/Cheese Party after lunch. Stay next door, still on the boardwalk, in the "courtyard," price is $236 or $224, according to view. Finally, the apartment.
